Sydney Beach Weddings is a specialised arm of Top Cat Catering offering its clients a beach wedding experience. The management at Top Cat Catering are the proprietors of one of the most exclusive waterfront venue/function room in Sydney, Horizons in Maroubra. The venue is hired out to the general public with or without catering for events and weddings.

The Job

Sydney Beach Weddings approached Websites ‘N’ More in October 2015 to develop a website and assist them in an SEO campaign with the aim of promoting beach wedding packages and waterfront venue hire for events. The following services were provided to the client,

• Website development – Our team of WordPress developers created a simple informational website for the client. The key highlights of the project were a simple & clean interface, use of images to highlight the venue and related services provided by the client, easy navigation with clear call to actions.

• Search Engine Optimisation – A very interesting SEO campaign for our team as the client had decided to go ahead with a domain that was a direct keyword match or a keyword rich domain. (sydneybeachweddings.com.au). Once the website was developed and a list of keywords was shortlisted we started working on the campaign in full swing.

• Local SEO – During the campaign, we also emphasised on optimising the local listings given that the client was offering a service at a physical location.

• Content Creation – We were also responsible for creating on-page content for effectively targeting keywords and regularly put together blogs that were used on the client’s website and on third-party websites to further build links.

The Result

Roughly 2 months into the campaign the website started appearing in the top 5 results for organic search. The key to early success in this campaign was a keyword rich domain being used. The website’s traffic grew by 40% month on month and as of December 2016 it received 450 clicks through organic search. From 0 clicks to 450 clicks a month through organic search was a big achievement for our SEO’s. We were also successful in achieving a number 1 position for local search (map) listings for the client, this resulted in 461 views a month and 29 call to actions (website visits, directions and phone calls) through the listing (Data from April 2017).
The overall results achieved during this campaign made the client nothing but happy!
